The Next Big Promotion In Wrestling?

The Next Promotion To Break Out?

While watching the "Rise and Fall of ECW" dvd, I was thinking if that could happen again? Right now is a great time to be a wrestling fan.You have WWE, the "sports entertainment" side of wrestling. Then you have Impact on Thursday nights, which focuses more on the wrestling. And you have ROH, for those who like the "strong style" wrestling. And while I do watch all three, plus CMLL on Galavision (even though I cannot understand a word they say) I have been watching a wrestling program that many may not know about. It is called Prime Wrestling, which is on Sports Time Ohio (662 on Direct TV).

I have been watching since Wrestlelution 2, and I have seen this company grow to a powerhouse in he Ohio market. This promotion boast a number of fine wrestlers, starting with the Prime Wrestling Champion, "The Whole Shebang" Johnny Gargano. Gargano overcame an attack during one of the episodes by a masked man. That masked man was later revealed to be "The Zombie Princess" Jimmy Jacobs. The very Jimmy Jacobs who is one half of the ROH Tag Team Champions (with Steve Corino).

Another great wrestler is billed as "The Most Dominate" Jason Bane, who had a once in a lifetime match at Wrestlelution 5 with "The War Machine" Rhino!

This was a wild match with Rhino coming out on top, dominating "The Most Dominate Man"! A tag team I truly like are the Prime Wrestling Tag Team Champions, The Dead Wrestling Society. They are "The Embodiment of Evil" Krimson, and his partner Kirst. Along with Jason Gory, they have been running roughshod over all in Prime Wrestling. Jason Gory was the TV champion, but had his title "stolen" by "The Neon Assassin" Michael "The Barber" Facade.

With the great wrestling action, and the great wrestlers in the company, I predict that within 2 to 3 years, this company would and should go more national. I know that, as a fan, I will do my part to promote Prime Wrestling. Check it out every Sunday at 9pm Central on Sports Time Ohio.

Another Thought About Video Games

I have been posting a lot about the new NASCAR game, called NASCAR The Game Inside Line. Last week I picked up Black Opps II, and this year's version of the F1 game. I took back four games to Gamestop to exchange. EA's FIFA Soccer 13, and NHL 13, and their Need for Speed games. And I took back WWE 13. Why, as a wrestling fan, would I take back WWE 13. Because wrestling games are not done right.

THQ brings out a game that disappoints on many levels. First, the AI leaves a lot to desire. When you can defeat the biggest name in wrestling on the hard level just starting out, the AI needs working. Plus, as the games progress, they have taken out a number of great things. Create a Belt, Create a PPV from other games are absent from these games lately.

But wrestling games are done all wrong in general. THQ makes the game as competition. Wrestling is not a competition based form of entertainment. Never has been. All anyone has to do is watch A&E's documentary "The Unreal Story of Professional Wrestling" to find that out. While I plan on buying NHL later in the year, I will not buy WWE 13.

If THQ wants to do it right, then any wrestling game should be a promotional based game. Being able to hire and fire wrestlers, create your own promotion and your own belts and championships. Sign TV deals, and create PPVs and weekly or monthly cards, and have it on a video game system. Much like the MLB game that 2K Sports put out for those who want to play fantasy baseball. Make it where you can compete with other promotions, and watch out for promoters trying to steal your guys. That's what I like about TNM 7 SE and Greydog's TEW 2010. (2013 coming out later). While they are text based games, they are easy to get lost in.

Because you have more to do than pushing buttons. All of the above plus some, as far as TEW 2010. TNM 7 SE makes it easier to run fantasy wrestling leagues. I use it for MWF, and the resurrected NWL. Many others use it as well. If only someone in the video game industry would have the....wherewith all to do this, I would be the first in line to buy the games.

Before I close, I have run the MWF card for tonight, and will post Friday. The NWL I mentioned earlier will start up Friday as well. Go to the web site by clicking here. That's it for now. Adios Amigos!
